Q: Do you have a catalog with additional samples and photographs?

A: Since all of my cakes are custom made to individual specifications, no catalog per se is available. My Web site is a brochure, not a formal catalog. It's designed to give an introduction to my style and services. I continually come up with new designs and as I do, I introduce new, seasonal designs which are available for your review at your request. Remember, I work on appointment basis only.

Q: I don't see any prices. How much do your cakes cost?

A: It's impossible to set up a price list, since each cake has so many variables. I take into account the number of servings, the complexity of diverse design elements, and particulars important to the celebrants. Sometimes a smaller cake may take longer to create than a larger one, and therefore, it will be priced higher, which is the basis for pricing used by most designers. (My cakes are generally baked in incremental serving sizes of ten, some designs on twenty-five to thirty) When meeting with you, I like to present several possible, available variations and propose a few price tiers from which to select. In any case, I will certainly make every effort to work within your budget.

Q: When should I book my cake?

A: I do not like to rush clients into making hasty decisions and I encourage research of both price and quality of work. However, I cannot guarantee prices and availability before a contract is signed and I have a deposit. For weddings, most brides book my services six months to a year before their event. For other events 20 to 30 days in advanced depending of course on the complexity of the design. I have been known, however, to stay up all night to complete last-minute orders.

Q: I'm having my event outside you delivery areas. Can you ship my cake?

A: I find that standard carriers cannot guarantee safe shipping of my cakes. The best method to deliver my cakes is by cold vans. Van delivery is available in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. I've also flown my cakes successfully, nationally and internationally, using both commercial airlines and private planes.

Q: Would you be willing to use fresh flowers on my cake?

A: I strongly advocate against the use of fresh flowers on cakes. They are usually sprayed with strong pesticides which should not come in contact with edible elements. Additionally, I love the artistic challenge sugar work presents and I recommend saving the confectionery flowers as keepsakes. But, if you decide to use fresh flowers anyway, the customer or florist should be the ones to decorate the cake. I, therefore, cannot assume the liability of providing support to third parties.

Q: May I purchase sugar flowers and sugar decorations from you?

A: I do sell sugar flowers separately from my completed cakes. My sugar embellishments are very time-consuming to make and too fragile to ship on their own. However, certain figurines and flowers can be made out of cold porcelain and are available for sale. Please contact me for further information.

Q: I'd love some of your recipes and designs. Do you teach classes?

A: Currently, hands-on classes are available but only to a minimum of 6 students for the cake decorating and sugar flower making. I have not yet published a book, but when I do, it will most certainly contain recipes and new techniques and designs.
